Traffic just a religious excuse
At a time when harmony between communities is seen as a matter of priority, the new Jewish Community School in East Barnet has given rise to controversy.
Karen Jordan has come up with the old objection, excessive traffic (June 7). This was the same objection raised some years ago, when an orthodox synagogue opened in Watford Way, and when the Hare Krishna movement opened Bhaktivedanta Manor, near Watford. Yet there is not a squeak from anyone about the amount of traffic generated by Christian churches.
Traffic is just an excuse for some people, thankfully a minority, for expressing objection to faiths other than their own.

What rot!
Ron Isaacs is simply exposing his own prejudices here rather than any knowledge of our campaign whatsoever.
Writing as a long-time anti-facsist activist, such bad-mouthing and rumour-mongering around the environmental campaign I helped to found makes my blood boil quite frankly.
Have you taken the time to read any of our materials before jumping to your daft conclusions Ron?
I'm gussing not, otherwise you would have read the following (repeated on everything we've ever produced):
"We believe that a faith school such as JCoSS has the potential to add cultural enrichment to our area, and we welcome that. However this must not be at the expense of the safety of our children or the environment in which we all live."
The positive aim of our campaign is to make the JCoSS Green Travel Plan so strong and legally binding, that we will not have the massive increase in traffic they are predicting - and so will not need a new road across our children's playing field.
Hardly the agenda of the vile BNP/NF is it Ron?
